Enterprise-wide IP-PBX at Telefonica
In 2007, Telefonica selected OpenCloud Rhino as the platform to develop a range of SIP-based PBX services for the La Caixa bank corporate network. La Caixa is the third biggest bank in Spain. The solution provides a complete IP-based PBX network for all voice and data services for over 5,000 branch offices and 25,000 employees of La Caixa bank throughout Spain.
The solution incorporates CRM, Softswitches, Media Servers, Web servers and OpenCloud Rhino as the Telecommunications Application Server
Rhino hosts a number of services that Telefonica have developed for the La Caixa PBX network, including:
- "Secretaria de oficinas" (Secretary office): If an incoming call is to an extension configured for the service, the Call Server routes the call to the secretary office application. The application then decides the destination – office or Call Centre – and then routes the call.
- "Click2call": This service allows a user, through a web interface, to set up calls by indicating the calling extension and the desired destination of the call. This service utilizes the Web Server to initiate the call which then invokes the service on the Rhino platform.
- "Directorio de clientes" (Customers directory): This service allows the presentation of the calling party name and profile in the destination terminal(s)
- Terminal monitoring and status checking services, to enable the other services.
The OpenCloud Rhino PBX services are live across Spain in La Caixa Bank.
