Altran signs agreement with OpenCloud
October 23 2008,
Altran España, Spain’s leading consultancy in technological innovation, part of Altran Technologies, has signed an agreement with OpenCloud Ltd, the leading supplier of real-time application servers for next generation telecommunication services. Altran will develop applications for OpenCloud’s Rhino platform and provide both systems integration and reseller services thereby strengthening its offering to fixed and mobile operators.
The partnership will see Altran Technologies utilising its expertise in developing bespoke person-to-person communications services to build commercial applications on the Rhino platform. Development of Altran’s extended operator services portfolio, including systems integration services, is ideally suited to OpenCloud’s real-time application server which allows truly portable applications to be built which can run on multiple platforms, maximising operator flexibility and responsiveness.
OpenCloud Rhino implements JAIN SLEE (JSLEE) JAVA standard, specifically designed to satisfy the strict requirements from Telecommunications industry. It supports, manages and executes portable, carrier grade telecommunications services, regardless of the underlying infrastructure, faster and at a lower cost.
By supporting the JAIN SLEE Standard Altran Technologies complete solution will enable Communication Service Providers (CSPs) to select a telecommunications application server without platform compatibility restrictions.
Ana Mosquera, Telecommunications General Manager of Altran Technologies, pointed out, “this agreement is a step forward for Altran Technologies in the development of new communication services using standard-based platforms. Altran´s specialized offer together with OpenCloud will be able to create new carrier grade solutions in a flexible and cost effective way”.
Enriqueta Ronco, Country Manager of Spain and Portugal at OpenCloud, commented, “Altran’s heritage of systems integration and developing tailored solutions for its CSP customers is ideally suited to the freedoms which OpenCloud Rhino offer customers. The partnership demonstrates how the industry is moving away from proprietary vendor lock-in models, focusing more on the commercial opportunities available when flexible development platforms are used.”
