January 14 2008, Cambridge, UK
OpenCloud Limited, the supplier of in-network application servers for next-generation convergent telecommunications services, today announced that Jeff Gordon has been named as chief executive officer effective immediately. Gordon, who was appointed chairman of OpenCloud's board of directors in June 2007, succeeds Stephen Newton, who continues on the board as a non-executive director, and will be actively involved in a business development capacity.
Jeff Gordon has more than 28 years industry experience and an outstanding track record, holding executive leadership roles with large corporate entities in the telecoms sector. His strong operational and management skills will strengthen OpenCloud's position as a significant global player in the next-generation telecoms network application server market.
"We are very excited by Jeff’s appointment as CEO. Under his leadership, OpenCloud will be well positioned to address the challenges of the global telecommunications market. Jeff will play a leading role in building a strong and effective management team and developing dedicated channels and application partnerships,” said David Ferry, founder and CTO.
Jeff Gordon added, “I am thrilled to join OpenCloud as Chief Executive Officer. I believe that OpenCloud has a real opportunity to change the technology landscape and price-point for telecoms network equipment.”
Previously, Gordon headed up Motorola's EMEA infrastructure business for which he was responsible for 1,400 employees and $1.6 billion in annual revenues. Prior to Motorola Jeff chaired the Unisys European management board. He has spent the last 8 years working specifically in the telecommunications sector building software businesses such as Axiom Systems, a leading provider of service delivery solutions to the telecommunication industry and Celltick a leading provider of mobile content discovery and marketing solutions, for which he remains as a chairman.
