Kapsch CarrierCom and OpenCloud announce Partnership
November 28 2007, Cambridge, UK
Kapsch CarrierCom AG and OpenCloud are working together on solutions to help network operators bring innovative convergent services to their customers. By implementing new services from Kapsch’s portfolio of JAIN SLEE applications, such as the new Outlook Integration, network operators can offer attractive new services with faster time to market and that generate more revenue. The Rhino Platform from OpenCloud offers a truly carrier-grade platform for Kapsch JAIN SLEE Applications. Rhino was designed specifically for the telecommunication industry using the open Java Standard JAIN SLEE, stimulating innovation and interoperability. As specialists in communications solutions for fixed and mobile network operators, Kapsch CarrierCom already offers the most complete portfolio of JAIN SLEE applications and solutions for carriers. This partnership provides network operators with a further, attractive alternative to their existing solutions on legacy Intelligent Network (IN) infrastructures, and supports their migration to next generation networks.
“In today’s competitive market, carriers are evaluating and moving towards open platforms. Therefore it makes sense for Kapsch CarrierCom to work together with OpenCloud and its carrier-grade Rhino Platform to give our customers a comprehensive offer for innovative, convergent services,” explains Kurt Plattner, Member of the Board at Kapsch CarrierCom. “By partnering with OpenCloud we can simplify the roll-out for network operators by guaranteeing that our applications run optimally on the Rhino Platform. This helps give the network the flexibility and agility required to react in a rapidly changing market”.
“Kapsch CarrierCom is a well respected and established supplier of IN-network telecoms solutions so it is a great endorsement of JAIN SLEE and OpenCloud that we are now working together to provide innovative services for telecom operators. Kapsch CarrierCom has now become a part of our extensive Partner Ecosystem,” said Stephen Newton, CEO from OpenCloud.
Kapsch CarrierCom offers applications such as Virtual Private Network (VPN), convergent messaging, and Multi-Device on OpenCloud’s Rhino Platform and other JAIN SLEE platforms.
